As bad as it may sound the hurt nevers goes away. When I find it hard to sleep at night, I play relaxation sounds, such as the ocean, birds, rain and etc. When I find it hard to focus during the day, I keep myself busy with work, school or something I really enjoy doing. When I get very angry about this whole adoption ordeal, I go to gym and work all that tension and frustration out on the weights. Last but not least when all else fails, I lose myself in a book, reading leaves no time for thinking. You have to "trick" your mind, occupy your thoughts if you will. I do not know the extent of your situation but I must stress how important it is to obtain counsel.
